Seeing as Jez hasn't done this up yet....

Cost - $90 pre-paid and you need a AASA or CAMS licence (you must fax your form in by the Thursday before hand...will not be able to register on the day...all spots will be taken).

You get a minimum of 3 sessions each consisting 1 warm up (out) lap, 5 hot laps and 1 cool down (in) lap. These events are proving very popular and i would definately recommend pre-entry if you want a spot. Briefing is usually around 12 and it all finishes around 5. just watched some racing on rpm ... cant wait for next round

cavey did not have a good day, he got 2 laps in before his new brake pads glazed and he had no more brakes, so that was the end of the day

i only managed a 66.39, the gearbox is great but the engine does not have enough revs to support the shorter gearing (2nd is no longer usable on the QR sprint track)........something ill just have to work on i spose hehe

hold on having a shorter gearbox wouldnt u need less revs ?

or do u mean the gearing is too short, so by the time youve changed out of 1st its time to change into 3rd already ?

Yeah I had a crap day.

Only managed about 6 corners before my pads gave in.....on a brighter note, I did manage to do a 68 sec lp....with no brakes...

I will have good pads and camber for the next meet.....bring on the 60 sec lap time.

problem is that the engine hits limiter at 6200 rpm, and 2nd only gets me to 80kph now......which means i would be at like 5800-6000 rpm in the tight corners if i used 2nd, and so its not worth changing back to 2nd....just gotta use 3rd and drop revs a bit

once i can get an extra 1500 rpm or so out of the engine it will be ok

that being said, even coming out of turn 6 in 3rd, the shorter gearing was getting me an extra 5kph at the end of the straight through the extra acceleration, which made turn 1 a little more hairy than it used to be!

Did you notice any more pull out of the corners due to the lsd?

a little bit more pull, but quite a bit more understeer on turn in....and the inside tyre kept howling like a bitch in all the tight corners

also the car is easier to unsettle in the fast turns....but u can just keep driving while the back end floats around doing its own thing until you get out of the corner
