Hi All,

I did another LVMA day on the weekend and had a blast!!! For any of those that are keen to do one there is one booked for 30/9/06 which has heaps of empty spots, so if anyone is keen please let me know in this thread.

It would be:

SATURDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER 2006

LVMA (8.30am - 12.30pm) - min 15 drivers/ max 24 drivers
- $88.00 per driver
- Due to some safety concerns from the other day another instructor will be present hence the little price increase - this means smoother transitions between activities and more driving time for everyone

LUNCH: (pizzas and drinks) are going to be organised so as the decrease the comings and goings of everyone during the day.
$10.00 per person based on half a pizza.

As I am sure alot of people are aware Mt. Cotton has noise rules - they are attached below for everyones reference.

Noise Requirements:-

1. The Hirer acknowledges that all invitees and participants of courses are advised of the Centre's noise management regulations prior to the commencement of any activities. Participants or vehicles not meeting these regulations will be denied use of the facility.

2. Noise measurement:

Engines to be measured as follows (in accordance with Australian Design Rule standards):

i) 5 cylinders or less @ 4000rpm.
ii) 6 cylinders @ 3500rpm.
iii) 8 cylinders @ 3500rpm.
iv) more than 8 cylinders @ 4300rpm.
v) rotary engine @ 4500rpm.

The measurement will not exceed a noise level of 90db(A) @ 3m 45degrees from the exhaust.

Although those rules are pretty relaxed on the LVMA. Josh's GTiR is 92 dB and had no issues.

PLEASE POST IF YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED.

ATTENDANCE:

John .............. EVO 7
Josh .............. GTiR

I have cut and pasted that message on a few forums I think would have the likely candidates. Basically the day is run by SDT (Safe Driver Training) at Mt Cotton Driver Training Centre. Throughout the day there are about 5 motorkhana courses that you get at least 3 laps on, they are all timed and you really get to learn alot about your car on a day like this. I can put up some photos of the last day if anyone wants.

whats LVMA?

LVMA stands for Large Vehicle Manouvering Area. Basically it is a massive open slab of bitumen where people learn to drive trucks. On the day there are quite a few courses set out with witches hats and they are all timed. The surface is slightly wet but not slippery, you get to learn quite alot about your car. It is more about throttle and car control than going flat out. This day is awesome, I can post some photos of the one from the weekend if anyone would like.
