Mr2 and 2zzge are one of the best combos ever! Are you doing any engine mods?I've seen a couple of these setups on the Best motoring dvds and they fly.

NICE very very nice, and great job with choosing that front bumper.
Is it running with the standard gearbox- ie/ sequential manual box without clutch?
Or does it have a celica 2zz gear box?
MMM, just realised that, that front bumper is a porsche style, looks hot!

Hey,
So this is an engine conversion? What do the aus spec ones come with. Looking at personally importing a jap spec. Loving them.
Thanks,
jezza323
19 Oct 2007, 06:29 PM
the aussie ones are 1zzfe, as opposed to 2zzge? i know its 1zz vs 2zz, not sure about the fe vs ge though
turboalfa
19 Oct 2007, 06:55 PM
I've been researching and i don't think you can buy them with the 2zz (which I thought you could)

Not worth personally importing, might find a cheap one at auction here and possibly do the conversion.
Thanks,
turboalfa
22 Oct 2007, 10:39 AM
Okay, never came out with 2ZZ and I'm not even sure if you can buy a straight manual one in Australia
More info on the build would be great.
You want to sell yours ralyrt?
Thanks,
ralyrt
25 Oct 2007, 11:33 PM
more info u want ok
your right mr2 never came with the 2zz, and we only got the smt version not the proper manual, mies an import.
i bought mine bout 3 yrs ago, then took it off the road to build it up, was suppose to take couple of months, but sh*t happens, painter lies, parts dont come on time, etc
car finished in july 06,regoed got renewed in aug, lost my licience in june, got them bac in dec, drove the car for 2 weeks, on new yrs day coming bac from work, some commodore decides to take my lane, i get tapped at the back, causing my car to spin out, the climbing a gutter, lucky it wasnt those big ones,
its taken me 9 month to put back on the road due to funds( neither party was insured) so now its better than ever, lucky for me there was no major structure, chasiss on these cars are very stronger, so it was just replace the bent bits, which suprisingly it was 4x struts and 1 tie end rod, and cause it was so low, the kit suffered a bit, so i just bought a new kit, kept old one for memories
now the car is bac to normal
so far this is wat i have in it
exterior:
custom candy aqua blue painted in and out
after market kit
03 side vents
03 rear bar
03 taillights
clear side indicators
18" shadow chrome wheels
suspension:
had cusco zero 2 coilover, but 1 got damaged, so replace all 4 with stock struts and super low king springs
has stock sway bars and strut bar
interior:
red door trims
2000 celica seats
pioneer head unit mp3
and boss speakers
engine wise:
04 sportivo corrolla engine
sportivo cvs
2.75" intake
ive kept the standard mr2 box due to having an lsd,
its better to have a 6 speed in there, i do have 1 but
no lsd, so thats why ive kept it
i was running a stardard ecu,, its was quck, but
now ive got a power fc, damn this thing is a machne.
im runnng modyfied corolla headers with a high flow cat and custom 2.5" exhuast, finishing into a duel 3.5" tips,
expect power is about 120kw atw, ill be going to the duno this sat, will update with movie and figures
1/4 mile , expecting low 14s, will do after tafe finishes, its fast than my turbo starlet, which is a high 14s car
i know there's alot of things i havent mentioned, car will go for sale around mid dec, got afew little things to sort out,
people ask why i did the 2zz conversion, i tell'em i chose it over turbo, because of reliability, my bro has a turbo 1, yes its fast, but u have to consistly check this ,check that, it get annoying, i just wanna get in, a drive away, with out worrying to see if its smoking or boost leak etc
when it comes to cars, im very picky, car must be 100% before i decide to part with it
damn ive wrote so much, more pics will be up, so if u got any questions let me know
cheers

Love the 2ZZ-GE.. just doing a conversion into my mates MKII escort at the moment.. although this one we've done a custom set of tuned length pipes, and some quads from a 20v 4AGE..
they are an awsome engine, especially when you start pulling them down.. for example did you know they come factory with a crank main bearing girdle??
