dats one crazy car!
I love rotaries even though I've neva driven one. Ne1 got a fairly stock rotary that they wouldn't mind letting me have a test drive? This is to help me be more determined to get one when the "Project Starlet" is complete. This post has been edited by tommykairaR: 19 Oct 2005, 02:04 AM -------------------- |

woohoo, actually did something with the car yesterday. i went n cleaned up all the stuff that has been piled around it so i could get to it. tidied up the engine bay wiring loom a lil more (love that insulation tape
i took the clutch pedal out and welded a tab onto it to allow me to use a series 2 rx7 clutch pushrod into my s2 rx7 master cylinder. also connected up the battery, put some oil in the ports and turned the engine over for about 1 min, it must be sparking good because i got some nice blue burning oil smoke out of the exhaust ports next weekend i will be welding up the gearbox x-member, putting the clutch pedal back in and putting some fluid in the master cyl and bleeding it. if i get a chance to go to supercheap this week i will also connect up the vac lines (all 3 of em). from the throttle body to a t-piece, then 1 to the fuel pressure reg and 1 to the map sensor, and a 1/2" vac line from the intake manifold to the brake booster......not sure how much vac this will get.......but it should be enough i hope -------------------- |

I would think that early model RX-7 disc brake setups would fit. Like Series 1 or 2.

yeah, for 1000 ute you would probably be best looking at series 1 and 2 rx7 complete front struts, as i have for the 323, it will most likely lower the front (certainly lowers the front of a 323 anyway), and give u some decent stopping for a lightweight car like a 1000 ute

ok, here is a few update pics for those that are interested.
doesnt look a whole lot different but the wiring is almost complete, finally. the engine bay with the thermo in place and wired, new earths, new batt terminals, and the wiring tidied up a bit (still more tidying to go) ![]() trying to find out where the oil cooler fits ![]() my $90 14"x7" hotwires with tyres, not a scratch on em ![]() the wiring inside the car, only 4 more left to do, then tidy up. (the ecu is sitting under the carpet which will be under the passenger seat, hence all the wires ![]() my oil catch can that arrived yesterday, there is a guy on ausrotary selling em for $60 delivered if you are interested. (the sard is just a sticker, which i will remove)

Looking top Jezza.
Brings back so many memories! I saw a black 323 the other day that reminded me of you and your project. Was a 2 door dropped on its guts with chrome 15" dished old school rims, and was loud as all hell, sounded like either an out of tune bridgeport or a peripheral port, couldn't tell as I only saw and heard it for about 10 seconds. -------------------- 1974 Mazda RX-2 Sedan (previous)
