June 2004 - Brownster's 1994 Toyota GT Starlet |
|
|
Michael Brown's (Brownster) 1994 Toyota GT Starlet is one of the wildest ones in the country. The car has had the whole works done inlcuding a new hot orange paintjob, larger wheels, specialised suspension setup and one of the most power 4E-FTE motors in Australia.
Owner: Michael Brown Age: 32 Occupation: Telecommunications Marital Status: Married Favourite Pastimes: Watching motorsport and working on my car or kart Previous performance cars you've owned (year/make/model) and how they compare to your starlet: RX3 with 12 injected bridgeport turbo (seriously quick), Datsun 1600, Gemini's, HSV Walkinshaw, Suzuki GTI, Suzuki Baleno. All up Im into the 20's for cars owned. All the cars were different but I must say that the Starlet is my favourite because I bought it stock and have alot of work put into it.
Make: Toyota Model: EP82 GT Starlet Year: 1994 Colour: Orange 1/4 Mile Best Time: 14 Flat (old motor) Power: 348.9hp at the wheels 19psi Dynoed at MRC (Mark Chapman) 0296345399
Why did you choose a starlet? My mate in QLD had one and I went for a ride in his quad light EP82 and couldn't believe the power this thing had (was 93kw ATW). His had the same kit that mine now adorns and it looked awesome.
What were your main aims? Just to build something that was fun to drive everyday.

Problems/Challenges/Build Time One thing that made the build particularly tricky was the restrcition on time that the car could be off the road. If I had the chance to do everything differently again I would buy a Starlet that had a fair few mods done already. The build time on this car has been 15 months from stock to how you see it now. |
